RE: [DML] Re: Wife orders 5252 to be sold

Pat...

It would only take a few minutes for your wife to sign up for this list. Maybe she thinks you're some guy with a basement shrine full of Buck Rogers collectibles (no offense to the BR enthusiasts here), not part of a community that enjoys the cars and their history. There are many of us here who could just as easily be in your position, we'd be happy to try to explain to her that you're not nuts, or alone. I, for one vow to be polite and courteous if she wants to sign on and let us know herself the objection she has to keeping this car in her garage. Maybe if she see that there are lots of men and their wives that love these cars, she will see them in a different light.

If not, many of us could write short notes about why to keep the car that you could compile for her. We can sell this without making her feel attacked. Would 500 names on a petition sway her?

Pat,

Using your own language, you said "my wife wanting a clean garage". It's
none of my business but I'll give you my opinion anyway. In my opinion, owning
a Delorean is owning a piece of sculpture from the past. It's art in motion.
It's not dirt, clutter, junk, or just an old car. It's history you can
touch. And before you make yours history, you ought to consider why you bought
the car, and why you are selling the car.

Again, you may be selling it for financial reasons and that is none of
anyone's business. You may be selling under pressure from a spouse. Anyone who
loves you loves your stuff as well. Besides, what is she going to do with the
half of the garage that will be freed up...ok, maybe I see a motive
now.....I see her car in the garage.

Keep the car, keep a piece of history.

I have a good lawyer if you need one.
