Re: [DML] DeLorean magazines.

Good point Ron.. It is very easy to copy the printed magazine too. It can also be scanned in to an electronic file and distributed over the Internet even if you never intended it to be published in electronic form.

The only way to stop people from making copies is to remove the incentive.

There are all sorts of DRM (Digital Rights Management). Most people who have iPods (or other music players) know that there are efforts to stop people from making copies of the digital content. Most people also know that those measures can be overcome with a little effort.

Cost VS effort is the key to it. You could develop a website that required the reader to log in and download a dynamically generated PDF that has their own name watermarked across each page!! That way, if they send a copy out to anyone, it will be known who the copy came from. However, that service will come at a cost that you have to pass on to the reader. It is an awful cycle to get in to.... Which brings me back to my initial point of if you make it FREE, there is no incentive to make copies of it! The money comes from Advertising.
