[DML] Calling all Eastern DeLorean Owners and DOA Members!!!

Came in late on this one.. But, See below.

Ken; How is this relevant? Other than to be a random dig at the DMA?? Is this the DOA trying to play nice?

IIRC, The DMA worked with Mark for his event in 2006. This "joint event" only attracted one owner who was not already a DMA member. The point is, although some past officers of the DMA may be critical of the DOA, the DMA has never taken an official position against the DOA. It has been the exact opposite and as far as I know this has not changed with the current officers. When I was an officer of the DMA, I never represented myself as such when commenting on the DOA. I spoke for myself, not the club. Your message was clearly signed "President DeLorean Owners Association". Is this indicating an official approval for the DOA to take cheap shots at the DMA?

Wow, this is very sad Mark. But, considering the (as Ken B says) "not so perfect" situation the DMA has been in, I was still able to get 9 cars to a showing of BTTF at a local ice cream shop with less than 2 weeks notice! The e-mail for this event went out to all of the DMA members (significantly less that the number of DOA members, and less than the 100 mailings you sent). We also had 12 (or more?) cars 2 weeks ago at our summer fun run. 30 or more cars at our spring social back in April.. Should I go on? When was the last time the DOA had a turnout like that?

The people representing the DOA continue to speak out in a manor that is somewhat condescending to the local clubs that have filled the void left by the piss-poor management of the DOA. This is the attitude that led to the fall of the DOA. This is the attitude I thought the new management was going to fix. The DOA has no power, has no authority, and no credibility. Simply speaking as if the DOA somehow has power does not make it so.

I continue to try and take a "wait and see" approach to the new DOA, but you guys are not making it easy! There is still the list of questions that were asked a few month ago when Ken made his announcement.

So, Mark, If I were to attend this event next year will I be displaying my car under a DOA banner? Your initial message reads "Show your support for Chapter 2 of the DOA". I don't (yet) support the DOA, so I guess I am not welcome. Support is something that must be earned. Instead of taking jabs, Look to those of us who have succeeded in getting support from the community to model yourself after.
