[DML] Re: New DeLorean?

You cannot just throw a new speedometer into a car and say it has 0
miles. Unless you can create a new vin tag and start all over you have
to go with the vin # and tag that the car was created with. If you DO
replace the speedometer and do NOT put on it the correct mileage you
MUST place a sticker in the car stating the speedometer has been
changed and the mileage it was changed at. The title will have the
mileage from the previous sale. About the only thing you can say is it
has 0 miles since the rebuild. The title will show the actual mileage
on that car with it's origional vin #. To my knowledge DMCH does not
have the authority to create and issue vin #'s. On E-bay a seller can
say anything, a buyer MUST be critical and understand what he is
buying. It cannot be a "new" Delorean. It *could* be an extremely low
mileage "like new" never titled 1982 Delorean but it can never be a
NEW 2008 Delorean. The title is like a birth certificate. Once issued
against a vin # that is IT FOREVER.
