Re: [DML] DCS 2010

Hi
I think its a good time to explain DeLorean Car Show and DCS West
I run DeLorean Car Show and with the help of some other owners have also started DCS West.
While it is my job to pick the venue, determine the pricing and such and keep it under control from a financial standpoint I do not have full control as Ken Montgomery who has done shows out west will be helping or doing much of the planning since he is out west and I am not. Somewhere down the line the show may go off on its own so it is considered a separate show and has its own web page. Deloreancarshow.com is the east on even years and DCSwest.info is the west and on odd years. Both will cross reference each other and many of the links and clubs etc will be the same.
the AZD, Ken Montgomery and other clubs like the DOA and the Northwest group and again the Mid Atlantic group and a number of individuals have agreed to help. This is a chance to grow and depending on how it goes my involvement it to make sure it stays open to all members and it is funded properly.
Ken M has organized many shows including the San Francisco event although it was quite a drive out to the museum.
Very simply I am exhausted and there is no way that I can pull off a show like we did east without this support.
I am not going to be the dictator on the West as I am on the east.
Remember its my funds that start these shows and it is at risk until the show happens.
We need to get the shows out on their own.
This year in Gettysburg we were to have done that but we had over 170 cancellationsdue to gas and I cut back but while we did not go in the red it surely did not give me what was needed to get the west show out on its own.
It will still be fine but it will require careful planning.
Gettysburg wore me out
We did soooooo many new things and I was not able to control all aspects so some things worked better than others but I still think this was the best show we have ever done.
The guest list I would challenge anyone to beat in any club anywhere for the size we have.
The larger format occupied 86,0000 square feet of space. That is a lot.
Things ran almost around the clock.
Did everything go right NO
But sooo much did that in my opinion it far outweighed the few oops we had.
Friday night was my most enjoyable night of any show ever
I sat and ate and actually watched the show
Saturday was more hectic but we did try to end by 10 and we did.
By the way the guy that won all the stuff at the raffle only bought $20 worth of tickets and we kept mixing up the tickets what a weird draw. Same thing happened in Cleveland and John gave him $50 to get him lottery tickets.
Thursday gave you more time to get reacquainted and while not highly attended the obstacle course ran so we know we can do it. I liked it as well so that format will stay.
We also packed up with the help of the Ohio and Mid Atlantic and a special recognition Sat Night for Marc who as he stated would have rather been in the bar.
I started it off with a bang (well actually a bump and crash) and ended up getting security after me for throwing Tiffany in the pool when she screamed.
Think at what you got at this show
5 BTTF
4 DMC Employees
1 TV Star
Vendors
cars
Bricklins
Malcom Bricklin
and everything else
I am exhausted still this show took a bigger toll on me than I thought.
My wife is doing fine by the way and I think held up better than me.
Keep in mind we were unable to do the detail work on this show since Chris had the heart attack and we had to do a lot of doctor visits and she had to take it easy.
All in all we did it and I really appreciated the good will many of you showed me.
Your support is what keeps me doing it. All help was volunteer so I would like to thank all Helpers and vendors who made this possible.
See you in Vegas hopefully in a seat more often.

And please get used to both web pages. We will do more cross reference now for you until you get used to it.

Again thank you all
Ken
