[DML] Re: Speaking of Oil..

There have been many discussions on other forums about oil. The
Goverment is making the oil companies reduce the heavy metal content
of motor oils. This includes Zinc and Phosphates. Newer motors are
being made to tolerate the new oils, older motors are going to have to
deal with what is available. For the short term you can still find
motor oils for off-road vehicles and diesel trucks and race cars with
the higher levels of the metals. As far as Deloreans go, the best
advice is to change your oil at least once a year. Any good premium
brand will do. Best to do it before you store your car for the winter
and change the filter at every oil change. If you put on more than
5,000 miles a year you will need to change it more often.
