[DML] Weatherstrip and Sun Damage

Group,

Need some wisdom from long timer owners.  

Does sun and heat cause the D's seat to crack?  What causes the
weatherstrips to separate from the fiberglass shell, leaving sticky
goo?  Does being a garage queen cause damage to the outer
weatherstripping?  

Asking because I just saw one for sale today and owner told me the
vehicle was parked in garage most of the time.  My gut feeling is that
something doesn't jive.
