RE: [DML] Rear coil question

John,

Got the rear shocks on okay. Thanks. Couple of questions. What happens if I move the spring seats down on the shock a bit? Does it change ride height or just the spring stiffness? On the front shocks, the replacements didn't have the long through/spacer tube for the lower mount. Should I shim these with washers or just let the shock ride on the bolt without being held firmly in the middle (I've got them on this way and am suspecting some of my front-end noise to be from the shocks moving.

  Thanks,
  Daryl

Daryl, We have used tie down straps with the ratchets on them. The rear
don't have to much further to expand once you get everything loosened up. Or
you can put the straps on the springs, one on each side and tighten up a
little till the bolt on the bottom as no tension against it. Make sure the
straps are equally spaced and tightened up equally also.

Anyone have tips on what to use when installing the rear shocks to compress
the spring straight?
