[DML] Re: How to figure battery life



The theoretical way is to take the # of amp/hours the battery claims
to have and divide it by the # of amps you will be drawing out. That
will leave you with the # of hours. The real world does not work that
way but it will give you an approximate #. As a practical matter you
never want to draw out more than 1/2 the battery's capacity and there
is a physical limitation on the # of amps you can remove over a unit
of time. There is also a finite # of charge/discharge cycles in a
battery's life. The more often and the deeper you drain it the fewer
cycles. A battery is not like a sponge.
