I traced the lead. It seems to go back into the wiring harness. I also 
did a continuity check between the vacuum solenoid and the microswitch. 
It's getting current, presumably from some strange unfathomable part of 
the wiring harness particular to automatic DeLoreans.

When I disconnect current from the idle speed microswitch, the engine 
won't idle, so that's doing its job. I've also disconnected power from 
the idle speed regulator and the thermotime switch, both with negative 
results, so I assume they're functioning correctly as well.

I think I'm resigned to the fact that my car idles at 1200 RPM and will 
occasionally die a few seconds after I start it up hot. Oh, well. I will 
drive it like this, then. It's either that or take a very expensive 
vacation to Houston.
