[DML] Re: 83 Desireability

With less than 9,000 cars made I've always said we are driving around in
glorified prototypes.

DMC employee Jeff Synor said it best... (paraphrasing) 'the DeLoreans are
snowflakes, each one is different'.

Imho, If the '83 is a kit car, ALL the DeLoreans were kit cars. While
it is true that some of the 83's were assembled from the "remaining
parts", all DeLoreans at all times were assembled from the parts then
remaining.

As one who owned a "late 81" but which the State of California
insisted on registering as an '82 and now owning a car assembled in
Nov of '82 but registered as an '83, I can tell you I have found
absolutely no difference in the quality of the build. Since I put
70+K on the first and have put 123K on the second, I think I can claim
a degree of "expertise" on that point.
