RE: [DML] Re: Useless History - was Source for Struts

Claude,

Why is it a ?Big question?? Does anyone really care besides your self? I
don?t recall avoiding this question before or saying I was ?great?with
Delorean?s? either but in any case there was no conspiracy on GM?s part. You
are probably right that they weren?t thrilled about us selling Delorean?s
however. Actually your question does pertain to my family history as well as
business but I have no problem sharing the information. In 1979 when the
second fuel crisis hit the states we had the misfortune to be sitting on a
couple hundred four wheel drive trucks in our inventory. These vehicles went
from ?hot? to definitely not almost overnight and our ?floor plan? (finance
rate) was in the mid teens at the time. That worked out to a few hundred
dollars per vehicle each month. A recession followed and we lost money for
several years as a result. In 1982 another dealer who was making money
selling fuel efficient Japanese cars made us an offer for the franchise and
we felt it was in both our and our employee?s best interest to accept it. So
there you have it, no conspiracy, just dull economics. Maybe now we can put
the topic to bed?

Rob Grady,

P.J.Grady Inc.

The Big question is what happened to the Chevy part of the
business...seems GM did NOT like the Grady's being in the DMC
business or something like that...or?? This question was asked before
but No answer was given, Grady himself, ran around the question and
just answered with how great he is with Deloreans, but the question
was never answered.
