[DML] Re: Where are the 397 missing first production Deloreans ??



Like most manufacturers blocks of #'s were used with gaps between the
blocks. Some blocks were reserved for different model years, some for
"export" some for company cars, etc. It's funny how CBL posts a
question and then answers it himself. Too bad many of the company
records were lost during the Bankrupcy. I suppose the Trustee and DMCH
have some documentation but it is probably not complete. Knut's
production chronology is probably the "best" there is. In that regard
it is to all of our collective "best interests" for all owners to
register their car on it and keep it up to date. A better question
would be what happened to the "black" cars. I would bet some were used
and had S/S panels put on in place of the plastic ones. For that
matter what ever happened to the plastic panels?
