[DML] engine cover?

Hi, list.

The previous owner of my car didn't know the answer to this question,
so I'll ask the collective:

What secures the engine cover (not the louvres) down? My car doesn't
seem to have any way of doing this, but I presume that the car was not
so badly designed. I could have sworn I'd seen a cover latch on
someone else's car, but I dunno if this was a homebrew solution or
factory original.

Also, do the louvres lock? Right now there's nothing stopping anyone
from screwing around in the engine compartment when I'm not there. :P

(Homebrew solutions are also welcome. :) )
