[DML] Re: not starting



Before you go messing with the distibuter pull one spark plug (any
will do) and see if you get spark while cranking the motor over. If
you do have a nice blue spark put the plug back in and use a TINY
amount of Ether sprayed into the mixture unit while the motor is
cranking. If it gets it to run at all it is a fuel problem, probably
in the cold start circuit. That or the mixture screw is way off. If
you don't have a nice fat, blue spark you have an electrical problem.
Common causes are:
bad/dirty connections on the ballast resistor
bad impulse coil
bad ignition coil
bad ignition wires
worn spark plugs
If the distibuter was not touched the timing should be alright.
