David, I don't know how far the DMC will go with only the battery. I can tell you that the last time I tried a similiar run in the early seventies a 1966 Mustang made it about 50 miles, enough to get me to the shop. I did have to use the low beam headlights part of the way.When I pulled into the shop the lights were just about gone. My hunch is that you will have to recharge the battery a couple of times before you make it all the way. I suggest you order a new alternator and install it .  Good luck.  Rod, 10921
