This is all correct, but beside the point. The reason that cooling  
systems
are pressurized is to raise the boiling point of the coolant to  
permit higher
temperatures without producing steam. Open the cap while hot, the  
pressure
drops suddenly, the boiling point lowers, and you have instant steam-- 
lots of it.
And true steam (as opposed to mere hot water vapor)  is nasty stuff.
Just don't do it!
