RE: [DML] I don't think it's a dead fuel pump

Mike, Humming isn't going to keep it from being stuck. Reverse the polarity
and un stick it. Connect say the hot wire up to the negative post and tap
the other wire on the positive post. Don't bolt it down just tap it so the
pump acts like a impact wrench. Normally they will un stick.

Subject: [DML] I don't think it's a dead fuel pump

Thanks Andy, Mike, David and John. After posting my message I searched
the internet and found on the Project Vixen site how to test the fuel
pump. I tested it and it started humming so I cleaned the connectors on
the top of the pump and installed it in the car. The pump hums when I
turn the key and also goes on when I jump the relay but the car just
cranks and won't turn over. Does it sound like an electrical issue? I
just did a full service in May when the car hit 60,000 miles. Any
thoughts? David, the wire you mentioned at the washer, would that still
cause problems even though the pump is working? Thanks for all your
help.
Mike
