Re: [DML] Air Conditioning

Jake,

The way to make the A/C stay on is to leave the knob on "Max A/C". If you mean you want the compressor stop cycling, that is exactly what you don't want to do. It will freeze the evaporator and not work at all. The low pressure switch cycles the compressor to prevent that from happening, which is normal correct function.

"It's always best to start at the beginning." Make sure you have the proper amount of freon, the correct pressures (high and low) with gages, correct fan blower motor, clean evaporator and condensor, and functioning low pressure switch.

As for the windows, the only way to check is to dig in there. There is no secret here, just take off the door panels and start digging. You'll see what is wrong when you are inside. *Be careful* though; the inside edges of the stainless are sharp!

Subject: [DML] Air Conditioning

My D's windows don't currently open, and living in Iowa in the summer
it gets bloody hot. Is there a way to make the A/C stay on all the time
(not alternate on/off) so that it will actually get cool in there and
be driveable? Plus any suggestions on the windows would help too.
(drivers side gets stuck down and the passenger side gets no response
from the switch and drops a bit in the front)
.
