[DML] Re:My DMC is a financial hole - what should I do at this point

In my opinion, the first (maybe the second) mistake was taking it to Delorean One. Ed (the owner) is a complete purist (nothing wrong with that, but he believes that everyone else should be, too) who over charges for everything he sells and all the repairs he does. Going to DMC Garden Grove for your repairs and advice may be a bit of a trekk but will be well worth the trip, in the bank account savings.

Fuel system problems are usually due to junk (nearly microsopic dirt) in the tank that has gooped up the rest of the system. Emptying and cleaning the tank, replacing the pump, accumulator, filter and injectors usually corrects the problem. Extreme measures include rebuilding the fuel distributor and warm-up regulator as well.

Once done (completely and correctly), your fuel problems will dissappear.

I agree with you that these cars are great fun to own and drive. Despite the shortcommings of my car (I had similar experiences with mine, but fortunately, haven't gone as deeply - financially- as you did), I find it a thrill every time I sit down behind the wheel.

Good luck.
