Re: [DML] What is the best way to buy

    Hi Rod,
Yes, I rememer the BBQ Banquet. I think that was the one where Kathryn DeLorean and friend and their baby sat at our table. Big round one. Also, I acquired a nice umbrella that I still have...maybe it is yours! Ha. When we left, Bettye and I were the last to leave the table and I looked for my umbrella and it was not there but this nice automatic one that was better than mine was the only one left on the table...it was raining a little so I took it! Of course I still have that flashing name badge.that I had made up.....It was a kit game roulette wlheel thingy with a round format that the LED's lit up in sequence going around in a circle. I made a jig and had a hole punch for the LED's to stick thru with a photo I took of my car and laminated....a mickey mouse set up if there ever was one, but it lasted thru the convention and many have identified me since that time by commenting on that badge...lots of fun. This is the only DCS we have attended. Something that stands out in my mind was seeing about 20 D's all come in at once down the road leading to the Convention Center with ALL of their doors in the "parade stance" as I call it...all open and driving slowly in a line...spectacular. We were never Elvis fans, but kind of became one before we left. We had no idea that the entire area even into anothr state was saturated with Elvis stuff. Little side story, I wanted to get John Z's autograph on my glove door lid so took it off and carefully packed it along with a new good ball point pen.. Then we discovered he would not be there but his daughter would so decided to get HER autograph instead. We saw her around the hotel many times and did not have the door with us and she said she woiuld sign it, but in the meantime signed a card she had and a program....her signature was one long blur and not legible at all, so I decided I did not want it! So my door has been to Memphis DCS and back even if the rest of the car was still at home! End of Murray story. I intend to monitor the Forum even though I no longer have the D. See you later.

Hello Murray, Carol and I sat at your table the night of the BBQ dinner. I agree the DCS 2002 was a special event. Graceland, the cars, and Ken's efforts to make everything perfect for those in attendance made it my favorite. I did not attend the first DCS in 2000 but have been to all since. For me Memphis will probably always be my favorite because it was my first and was just a year after I purchased my refurbished car. I remember the DeLorean name badge you fabricated with LED flashing lights. You should market those! I am sorry to hear your health requires you to sell your DeLorean. I hope it gets an owner that appreciates it as much as you do. Rod, 10921

    Hi Rod,
Thanks for the nice words....I sure hate to say this but I don't remember you from Memphis DCS in 2002, but I met So many neat Delorean owners and that show is one of our top memories....We stayed at Elvis's "Heartbreak Hotel" and the top notch personal treatment that Ken and his mom and family gave Bettye and I in seeing that we got everywhere in their own cars, was something never to be forgotten! . You probably saw me at the Awards Banquet getting the "Oldest Delorean Owner" plaque. I took many videos and stills so I bet you are in some of them! Thanks again.

I have always been pleased with the refurbished Delorean I bought from DMC, Texas in 2001. It has been trouble free for the first six years. I only put around 2,000 miles per year on the car, it has 15,000 miles on it now. I recommend those folks without reservation. If I were in the market for another DeLorean now, I would probably buy Murray Fisher's. I met Murray at the Memphis DCS event in 2002. Murray impressed me as someone who would keep his car in good shape. Rod Dillman, 10921

What is the best way to buy my D.
    a) From a seller over the net
    b) Through a company like DMC of Huston/D-one, etc
    c) One in bad shape and ship it to a company like DMC of Huston/D-one,
    etc to have it refurbished

    Thanks
