Re: [DML] Radio Problems

Is the sound just cutting in and out, or is the power actually cutting on and off. If the former, check to make sure that your speakers and speaker wiring are not shorting out and tripping protection in the stereo. My last D had a great car stereo, but the PO had placed front speakers near the wheel wells, merely sitting within the framework above the pedal area. The metal frame of the speaker would touch the bracing of the dash and short out (which it kept doing on my initial ride home in the car.) Once I figured this out, some wire ties and electrical tape solved the problem and it worked great ever after. Look for bends around metal bracing or places where wire could get pinched, especially under the stress of acceleration.
