RE: [DML] Re: Mid Atlantic spring social

Well...The first hunch is usually correct!

The passenger side window replacement switch I put in about a year ago has
always had a tendency to "stick" and not function right. I guess last
Saturday was the breaking point! The reason why my fuse kept blowing was
the switch actually MELTED the connector on the end of the wire harness and
two leads touched together and were shorting out! As soon as I separated
them, the problem went away.

Now I have to find out what do to replace the connector and the "faulty"
switch that made this occur.

Here are pictures of the damaged harness connector. You can clearly see
where the Green/White and Black wires melted the housing and were making
contact with each other.

I have a strong feeling it's the radio that I installed 6 years ago. I am
going to take apart the dash and disconnect it and try a new fuse.

If that fails, I will have to trace it out with a volt meter.

It's probably not the motors then - they don't get power from the fuse until
you hit the switch. Check the other stuff on that circuit.

they can bind so that they don't return to the center/off positon after you
use them. Make sure this isn't your problem.
