[DML] Re: Gas tank



IF you suspect that/or if you want to check to see if the frame rails 
have rusted/or the cover plate that holds the tank in place has rust 
now is your chance to remove  them to repair them,it is advisable to 
check the frame rails since those areas CANNOT be seen with just a 
under the car visual check,this area tends to retain water and 
moisture because of the tight fit of the tank and the finishing plate.
I Would advise to REMOVE the tank if for any reason you suspect that 
you might have frame rust/or do not know the condition of that area 
in that location,since of course the tank is empty and easier to 
remove.This is a VERY critial area in which to avoid haveing any 
major rust,and is WORTH the extra effort to check...for your peace of 
mind..even if you do not find any major rust there..at least you 
know..instead of finding out THE hard way one day!!
