[DML] Re: D Brakes

Some of the possible causes for a soft pedal/extra pedal travel include:

Bad brake hoses (if origional just replace them all)
Air in the brake system
Defective master cylinder
Play (looseness) in the pedal linkage
An out-of-adjustment rod on the booster that pushes on the master cylinder
Bad brake fluid
Wrong pads

I know you would automatically rule some of this stuff out since Dave
B just worked on your car. I list these as possabilities and you
should check them all. I also put them in order of priority. You
should call and discuss this with the vendor becuase even if warranty
is not an issue, if parts are required (or defective?) you should not
have to pay again to replace something that you already payed for. You
are right in not accepting this as OK. If brakes are not working right
you do need to insist on having them working the way they should. If
the car pulls when you apply the brakes that would also help to figure
out the problem.
