[DML] Questions on DMC #3416 answered.. sort of

Well, I talked to the guy who rebuilt the engine in the car I'm
buying. Remember, the one that is claimed at 210whp, normally
aspirated, without nitrous oxide or anything?

Well, he said the cams and valves are stock (he considered new cams
but at the time he built the engine there weren't any that improved
low-band performance). I know those of you following this little
exchange don't think that's possible.. but that's what I've got.

So we have a freeflow exhaust with turbo-exhaust headers and mufflers,
an unrestricted high-flow air cleaner and intake, engined modded to
3.0L, a lightened flywheel, all (or mostly) new ignition components,
and a CR of 9.5:1.

I know, I'm in for a lot of "Well, 210 whp is impossible with that
setup" responses. I can't explain it except that he said the jump to
3.0L was something like a 50 whp boost right away.

So until either he finds the dyno sheet or I get an opportunity to 1)
drive it on my own and 2) have it dyno'd, I don't know what else to
say. I know he's not intentionally misleading me, but all the
experienced people say this isn't possible.

I do know that at some point I'll be looking into that valve job that
(I think it was Martin) mentioned, as well as new cams.. but that's
way down the roads (which we don't need, anyway :D ).

Regardless of the modifications, I expect to have a LOT of fun with
this one!
