[DML] Re: Stock Speakers: (WasTo Cut or Not to Cut)

You could get the recomendations of what people have used in the past.
The problem with that is many times speakers get discontinued. What
was once available is no longer manufactured. Your best bet is to
contact someone like Crutchfield and they can help you pick out
exactly what you are looking for. That's where I went and they are
very helpful. You need to use a speaker that does not have a
projecting tweeter cone. It is not all that difficult to lengthen the
studs for the front, make a small extender for the base of the speaker
and use a projecting tweeter but it is a lot of work and it makes no
difference in the sound. The rears speakers are a little more
difficult in that you must remove the trim around the doors to get
access. The vinyl is brittle and cracks easily so you have to be very
slow and careful.
