[DML] Re: To Cut or Not to Cut..Front Dash for Radio

>From what I've seen, the only way cutting-to-replace/upgrade the stereo is only of significance if your "D" is totally, and I mean totally stock, pristine condition and would be a contender in concours showing.  Sure, value is predicated, in part, on the originality of the vehicle but for the most part, those of us who use our cars and don't own garage trophies, would rather have one that's more enjoyable than original.  Does your's have Toby TABs?  Epoxy peeling?  NCT tires?  Original speakers?  85 mph speedo?  Incadescent (or LED) door marker lights?  Original (or stainless) FI lines?  Plastic water bottle?  Changing these items for the upgraded version is just about as detrimental to the resale value as is cutting to replace your stereo.  Appearance, mechanical soundness and overall maintenance are the three main determiners of resale value.  After that, originality of all parts.

At least, that's my observation and opinion.
