This is correct.

81 DMC - 2712 - lbs curb weight - ~130 hp or so,  20.08 lbs/hp power/weight
ratio
81 corvette - 3307 lbs curb weight - ~190 hp or so,  17.4 lbs/hp
power/weight ratio
The DMC definatly isn't a heavy car. It never was, And while it is a bit
under powered, as sports cars go, I bet it's power/weight ratio is still
better than most cars rolling off of any assembly line in '81.

Actually it only takes an additional 25 hp to get the performance up to
where the corvette was in 81, hp wise. I imagine DMCH's exaust and a decent
porting/polishing could add that easily.
