I wouldnt under estimate the pulling power of the D... 

but the real problem would be the Ds lack of weight and brakes to 
control and stop a trailer.

Trailer hitch is easy... thank you Rich W (although a Class 3 was a bit 
of overkill)

To be perfectly clear, I would not tow a D on a car trailer with a D.
Maybe a jet ski on a trailer, or a motorcycle, but thats it.  Or of 
course you could pull a trailer like Arnie does or like I do.  See pics
