Yes. The DMC key blank is only needed if you want the cool "DMC" head
on it. If you just want a plain key, go to any locksmith with your
regular key and they can make a copy for a couple of bucks.

I have:

- The original DMC key for my car (in storage)
- A DMC key blank cut from my original (looks cool, used daily)
- A couple of generic key blanks cut from my original (for
emergencies; didn't see any reason to buy "expensive" DMC key blanks
for these keys)
