We often have a large printout of an FAQ somewhere at the show. It's one
I wrote sometime ago and although I've changed it a bit for my own use
on our company page, the last question still remains the same. I point
at it and say "have a look at the last question on that list"

http://www.delorean.co.uk/DMUK/myths.html

Usually the smiles on the people who read that *before* asking the
question outweigh those who actually think it's funny to ask it out loud.

Alternatively "It's in for a service" or "I got stopped for speeding at
87mph so I removed the temptation" or simply looking blanky at them and
asking them what they mean is a really good ploy, if you're a good
enough actor!
