Throwing parts at a problem doesn't always fix it. First of all by
"shotgunning" you may not have replaced the BAD part. Secondly you
have to put the parts in correctly and make certain adjustments, again
correctly. I would guess an ignition problem. It may not be but it is
the most likely place to start and you DO have to start somewhere.
Check the mechanical AND vacuum advance. Maybe the ignition coil. Very
unlikey this has anything to do with the transmission. BTW it is
possible to damage new parts as they are installed. Particularly
ignition wires. If they are pulled on the core inside can be broken
and the wire is now garbage. Not visible externally but an ohmmeter
can tell.
