A couple of years ago I was in the Phoenix Sky Harbor airport a day or two after the Barnett Jackson auction. We had a late morning flight but thought we may have a chance of getting on an earlier flight so we got there about 6:30am. As we walked to the gate to list ourselves on standby for the earlier flight I saw David E. Davis sitting  at the gate next to ours. He has knocked the DeLorean car and John in particular for years and I thought if I had the chance I'd like to ask him why. He was busy on his cell phone and our seats were confirmed right away for the early flight so I missed my chance. I've always regretted not getting a first hand account of why he harbors such a hatred. His recent column reflecting on John's demise was in very poor taste and I'm really surprised someone of Davis's caliber would stoop that low.
