Hi Dave,

When this happens, and it often does, we have found the safest method is to
use a propane torch to melt the orifice tube. You will need to remove the
heater hoses to keep them from burning but that's a lot easier than
replacing the evaporator. Good luck!

We are in the process of changing over Mike Lucky's car to R134, however we
are unable to get the old R12 expansion tube out of the evaporator. The end
has now broken off.

Any suggestions?
