I was once approached to purchase possibly a fourth "Gold DeLorean about 
10 years ago. It was perported to have been built from the spare body 
panels supporting the two Am. Ex. cars that were built. The problem was 
that there had been a driver door that had been replaced and so this 
fourth car was without a proper door.It therefore had it's driver door 
gold electroplated in a makeshift plastic bag of platiing solution 
instead of the large (expensive) tank that was created for the original 
build. The driver door was duller and not a very good visual match with 
the rest of the car. It may be that this car has re-surfaced or maybe 
this is the "last" car mentioned below.
