I'm not sure what you mean by that statement but the operation of the interior lights can be found in the following DeLorean publications.

Owners Handbook (early cars) page 26
Owners Handbook (late cars) page 12

A more detailed explanation can be found in the DeLorean Technical Information Manual Page 225.

My interior light does not go on in the car when I open the doors. Was this
the way the car was designed? I disconnected my door buzzer, so if this is
what causes this issue, let me know and I will crawl back under a rock.

If not, is there any way to rig the light to work this way?
