I have one caveat with this remark. :-) If the clutch shift from Neutral to
3rd or 5th is normal while the car is STOPPED, this probably implies that it is
a transmission problem. If you are referring to this when driving, no major
assumption can be made. Most reasonably skilled Manual drivers will find
shifting through the higher gears at cruise speed to be relatively easy with or
without a clutch (I should know, as I've driven the Mazda and the D for very
short periods like this).
