Charles Muffley Award for Engineering Excellence

General Definition

Awarded to the De Lorean present at the Eastern Regional Run that displays
brilliance in modifications.

Jury

The judges for this award are the following current officers of De Lorean
Midatlantic: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Activities
Director, Past President(s), Newsletter
Editor. The President or his/her designate from among these officers shall
serve as the Chair Person of the Jury.

Terms of Competition

The members of the Jury make their selection from the De Loreans shown at
the Eastern Regional Run. Each member of the Jury nominates one De Lorean
for this award. The decision of each member is final; that is, it is not
appealable to anyone. Nominations must be made to the Chair
Person of the Jury by the deadline set by the Chair Person. The De Lorean
that receives the most nominations shall receive the award. In the event of
a tie in nominations, the Chair Person shall select the award recipient from
among the tied nominations. The decision of the Chair is final.

Subjectivity

Each member of the jury is making a judgment about the De Lorean that s/he
believes deserves this award. Only the absence of the De Lorean from the
Eastern Regional Run disqualifies a nomination. Except for this
disqualification, every nomination shall be honored.

This is a fun award. It is expressive of an owner's inquisitiveness and
inventiveness. It demonstrates your appreciation of the tinkering instinct
in many an owner. Go with the excitement and wonder of the moment when you
first catch site of these characteristics in a De Lorean. Keep it fun!
