RE: [DML] Re: Valve adjustment? (Matt "D.I.Y." Spittle)

[Moderator Note: The point of contention here appears to be a simple case of miscommunication. I'm approving this message because it looks like it will end the topic mildly. Anyone who has more to say on this should do it elsewhere.

Robert,

Thanks for your response. You said in your reply that we refused to give him
(Matt) the information he requested.

You need to go back and read the responses he received. Matt asked a complex
question, within 24 hours he got two varied responses. David Teitelbaum
replied with a detailed answer to his question including some precautionary
comments. My response, based on my 20 years experience as a DeLorean
specialist, was precautionary only. If we refused to give him information we
would not have answered his question. Concerning my response, if he stated
that he was familiar with valve adjustments I would have gladly pointed him
in the right direction as I have done in all of my responses since the DML
started.

If you would like to comment further please do so off list. I can be reached
at [mailto:dmchelp@xxxxxxx ]

EDITED TO REFLECT ABOVE RESPONSE:

"If I'm going to make a comment on this, it's actually going to be in Matt's
defence."

"Matt was asking for clarification on how to procedure was to be performed."

"But I can't understand why no one wanted to post the information he
requested."

"But to refuste to give information on the basis that you're trying to
protect someone from themselves, that is absolutely wrong."

Matt is absolutly right. Car repair is NOT rocket science. And yes Joe, I'm
sure that the vendors would agree, seeing as how such a large portion of
their time is spent giving technical advice to their many customers over the
phone.

Even you had to start learning somewhere, Joe. Would you have been able to
operate a DeLorean service center had someone not have taken the time to
educate you, when you first had questions?
