[DML] Re: Oil bolt Removal tool



Traditional home made tool is a piece of 5/16" (same as 8mm) key stock
bent 90 degrees in a vise. Will work as long as your plug isn't REALLY
stuck.

Most keystock is fairly low carbon steel (that's how you can bend it).
If your plug is REALLY stuck, you're going to need honest to goodness
tool steel. Made myself another tool from an old 5/16" screwdriver,
bent with acetylene, that is pretty much indestructible.

John Hervey sells hex headed plugs you can turn with a standard
wrench. Slightly more expensive than a parts house plug, but you don't
have to play "guess the thread pattern".
