There is a spring inside the electronic section that pushes back on the
mechanical section. I have never disassembled the electronic section.
Another possibility is that the mechanical section is full of gunk, metal
shavings, etc, and might need to be cleaned out. That is not too
difficult,
but disassembly is the best way to clean it and the re-assembly is the
hard
part.

List,

My ignition switch does not spring back to run position. Is there a
fix other than replacing the entire switch?

Thanks ,
Steve

I used to get the same thing... Turns out my teenage daughter was taking a
joy ride while I was at work.

Well i suppose i should tell my story of my DeLorean encounter, I was over
at my friends place and his father had told me that a DeLorean is living
right behind them, so me and my friend decide we will have a look at the
car as we are on our way to the bball court, so we walk by the house and
there it is, i dont recognize the license plate but we continue down to
the court.
After playing bball for about 20 minutes i tell my friend that im going to
ask about the car, so we walk by the house, i go up to the front door of
the house, ring the door bell, this guy comes to the door he says,"May i
help you?"
I reply,"I am asking about the DeLorean." The man says,"I have seen you
before from the club." I ask,"You know of the AZ-D?" He says he is a
member. So it was cool running into a member of the same club.

I was out in the driveway the other morning getting ready to go on a

Forney Texas which is only an hour from Fort Worth, ..when a fellow
and his father came walking up the drive and announced; "Beautiful
car! I have one just like it!" "Really? who are you?" I asked.
"I'm your neighbor, I live behind you on the next street." he replied.
My mind was blown.
Imagine, another Delorean owner living a few yards away!?!?!?!
What a coinky-dink.
"Where is your car? I have never seen it out." I asked.
He told me he keeps in storage in Sulfur Springs, several hours away
at his uncles house.
This really buzzed me.
It was at that moment that it came to my mind the idea to resurrect a
Delorean club in the DFW area.
With myself, EJ, our neighbor and John@specialTauto that is a good
start. I want to attend parades, car shows, events and have tech
meetings so we can all work on each others cars like Rich and the
boys in Chicago do.

So, if there is anyone near or around north Texas interesrted in
being a part of the DFW-DMC that I will be starting up, please
contact me.

I don't plan on having any news letters, no dues, no politics.
Just Delorean owners and fans getting together.

Hey Marc,

Yeah, that was me. I live on west front street, right outside of red
bank. I won't be home again till around Dec 20, but if we get some nice
weather, we should definitely get together and grab a beer or something.

Ok guys..
Here's the million dollar question.
What is the BEST way to remove small scratches from a Delorean.
It appears that sandpaper will work if you have the right grit and
are able to maintain a straight line.
If this is true... What is the right grit?
Any ideas welcome, including any or all equipments and methods.
Thanks

Hey Guys,

If anyone living, or previously lived, within the North Alabama
region, more specifically the Huntsville metro and surrounding areas,
can provide me with the contact info for a good mechanic around here
I would definitely appreciate it.

I'm asking this on behalf of a friend whose D has been sitting in a
garage
as a side project now for about five years....and it only went in to be
rewired!!

Sometimes I think I want this car back on the road more than he does
(joking...I think? :OP).

Thanks A Lot Friends!
Robert G.
