It's easy for all of us to arm-chair quarter back this when we don't
have all the information.
To me the immediate response seemed a little slow and then a massive
rush of aid was on the way. The way I interpret that, is that
basically, people in charge had to stop for a second and make an
assessment of the best course of action. Simply throwing money and
supplies at a problem doesn't make it go away. It has to be deployed
properly or it's a waste of resources and no one gets help.
I'm screaming at my reserve unit daily to send me down there. I've
aske my job if there's a way I can volunteer if they'll maintain my
paycheck at %50 pay. So far, no dice. The only way I could go would
be to take vacation and I only have a few days. I hope I get to do
more than make a cash donation.
